Draft: final read before SafeHold launches.
SafeHold

Terms of use

Last updated 18 October 2026.

The short version

  • SafeHold is an organising tool. It is not legal, medical or social work advice.
  • SafeHold isn't an emergency service and doesn't alert anyone. If a child or anyone is in danger, ring 999.
  • SafeHold never tells you your legal deadlines or rights. Please check anything you rely on.
  • Your records belong to you. Please record facts honestly, and only share them with the right professionals.
  • You must be 18 or over.
  • Free is free forever. SafeHold Plus is £9.99 a month or £99 a year, and you can cancel any time.
  • If SafeHold is ever sold or closes, we'll tell you in advance and give you time to download everything.

1. Who we are, and these terms

SafeHold is run by Digibex Ltd ("we", "us"). SafeHold is a trading name of Digibex Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17501342. Registered office: Unit 6, Fruitspace, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 1RL. You can contact us at hello@safehold.org.uk.

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use SafeHold: the website, the web app and, later, the iPhone and Android apps. By creating an account, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

2. What SafeHold is, and isn't

SafeHold is an organising tool. It is not legal, medical or social work advice.
  • SafeHold helps you keep records, remember things and ask the right questions.
  • It doesn't give legal, medical or safeguarding advice or judgements, and nor does its AI. For advice about your rights, speak to SENDIASS, the Family Rights Group or a solicitor.
  • It never tells you your legal deadlines. If you add a deadline, you find it and check it yourself, and you can note where it came from.
  • It isn't an emergency service. It doesn't alert anyone, and it never contacts the police, social care or anyone else for you. If a child or anyone is in danger, ring 999. For a missing child who isn't in immediate danger, ring 101.
  • AI help can make mistakes. Check anything before you rely on it. You always see and can change what it writes before it's saved.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over, and live in the UK.
  • One account is for one person. Please keep your password safe, and don't share your log-in.
  • If you think someone else has got into your account, change your password and tell us straight away.
  • If you use a computer that isn't yours, choose "This is a shared computer" when you log in, and log out when you've finished.

4. Your records

  • Your records belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only so we can run SafeHold for you. We don't claim any ownership of them.
  • You're responsible for what you record. Please record facts honestly and accurately, and keep what you think separate from what happened.
  • Your records will include other people, such as your children and professionals. Only share your records with the right professionals, for the right reasons, and don't use SafeHold to harass or harm anyone.
  • Keep your own copy of anything important. You can download everything at any time from More.

5. Using SafeHold fairly

Please don't:

  • break the law, or use SafeHold to harm, threaten, stalk or harass anyone;
  • try to get into anyone else's account or records, or into our systems;
  • upload anything harmful, such as viruses;
  • copy, resell or take apart SafeHold, or use automated tools to collect from it;
  • use AI features far beyond normal personal use. There's a fair-use monthly allowance, and we'll tell you kindly if you reach it.

If someone breaks these terms, we may pause or close their account. Unless it's urgent or the law stops us, we'll tell you why first and give you time to download your records.

6. The Community

The SafeHold Community is a private, moderated space for parents. When you first join, you choose how you appear (a username or "Anonymous parent") and agree to the house rules. The house rules are part of these terms.

  • Share what you need about your situation, but leave out anything that could identify your child or anyone else.
  • Be kind. Share experiences, not legal or medical advice.
  • Nothing about family court cases, because sharing them can break court rules.
  • You're anonymous to other parents, but not to SafeHold. SafeHold staff and our moderators can see which account wrote a post, only for safety and moderation.
  • SafeHold staff have the final say, and may hold, edit, hide or remove posts, and warn, mute or remove members.

You keep ownership of what you post, and give us permission to show it in the Community. You can delete your posts and comments at any time. If you delete your account, your posts and comments are deleted too.

7. Plans and payments

  • Free: £0, forever. No card needed.
  • SafeHold Plus: £9.99 a month or £99 a year. We're not registered for VAT, so there's no VAT on our prices. There's no free trial.
  • Plus renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from More in the app, and you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for. We'll remind you before a yearly plan renews.
  • If you change your mind, you can cancel within 14 days of first buying Plus and get a refund.
  • If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before it does.
  • Referred places: charities, family hubs and councils can give families a free or reduced-price place, using a code.
  • If you buy through the App Store or Google Play (when the apps arrive), Apple's or Google's payment terms apply too.

8. Changes to SafeHold and to these terms

We're always improving SafeHold, so features may change. If we make an important change to these terms, we'll tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account and download your records first.

Sometimes we may need to pause SafeHold briefly for a fix. Your records stay safe while we do.

9. If SafeHold is sold or closes

If SafeHold or Digibex Ltd is ever sold, or SafeHold closes, we'll tell you in advance and give you time to download your records (at least 60 days if it closes). If it's sold, the new owner must look after your information under this privacy policy, or you can delete your account.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from More > Delete my account. This permanently deletes your records and files. Please download anything you want to keep first. If you have SafeHold Plus, deleting your account also stops future payments.

11. Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep SafeHold running and your records safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.

12. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.

13. Contact us

Email hello@safehold.org.uk. We reply within 5 working days. Please don't use email for emergencies: if a child or anyone is in danger, ring 999.
